Author's Response: It wouldn't make sense for Wei to bring Daesung with him as that would endanger him. There is actually further discussion in the next chapter about what happened between Wei and Daesung but you will have to wait for Wednesday. I probably should have mentioned that "appa" means "dad" in korean. At a wild guess I am going to say that you don't know many Chinese nationals. Wei's message will be instantly understandable to anyone who has studied the Sino-Japanese War though. It will get some more discussion on Wednesday but you could always google it and see what turns up. Be sure to do a GIS for it also.
