I wanted to make this story realistic. Unfortunately when a person is addicted they just can't seem to stop. So even though Inuyasha is back and alive she is already hooked. She needs to stop and hopefully she eventually will!! :)

Author's Response: I don't think anyone can truly understand how hard it is to stop using drugs unless they have fought addiction themselves. It's not an easy fight. Though I have personally never used drugs I was a smoker at one time and if that was hard to quit I can only imagine what crack/cocaine is like! It must be insane. So no, he doesn't TRULY understand, but he's trying. No one can understand unless they've been through it themselves. My family too has had a lot of addiction problems and I've witnessed first hand how hard it is to overcome addiction. There are often relapses and such. Hopefully Inuyasha will be able to help Kagome. :)

Author's Response: Yes definitely. I wanted to show the effects that drug addiction has on family members and loved ones as well as the user. Inuyasha was just as effected as Kagome through all this. Hopefully he can get past it. :)

The addiction seems a bit immediate. I did not get how much of a time lapse occurred between Sesshoumaru reviving InuYasha and him going through the well and finding Kagome.
However, it is an interesting plot. I rarely see any drug addiction fanfics.

Well the way I see it you can get addicted the first time you try a drug. Not much time passed between Inuyasha's death and Sesshomaru reviving him. It was about half a day. They were attacked during the day and Inuyasha found Kagome in the early morning hours. Like around 4 or 5 am. :) This was like my second or third fanfic and my first full story fanfic so I know it's got it's issues. But I was still (and still am) learning. :) I thought it would be an interesting plot too. :) I hope the story is still good anyways :)

Author's Response: Thank you for the compliment! ::Blushes:: LOL I have terrible language too. I curse like a drunken sailor lol. As for the higher power thing that's actually a part of the NA program. I used the real NA program to do the story. It's a 12 step program and your suppose to hand all your problems and addiction over to a higher power. It can be absolutely anything you want it to be. It doesn't even have to be a God of any type, but it has to be SOMETHING. So I didn't come up with that on my own. The Serenity Prayer is the prayer they say in the NA program. I also used the real steps in the program. I wanted to give the story a realistic touch. :) Anyways the higher power could be your dog (I swear I'm not making that up) or it could be a building or it could be a God from any religion. In Japan that would be either the Kami or whatever they believe in in the buddist and shinto religions. That's why I changed the first word of the prayer. The first like is suppose to be "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change." I changed it to "Kami grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change." So just so you know that stuff isn't made up. As for Hojo I had to villanize him a bit. I was never a Hojo fan, but I think in the show he's pretty harmless. But I wanted to make him a bad guy here. Anyway I hope you continue to enjoy the story! :)

Author's Response: If I remember correctly I THINK there are 17 chapters. :) This was my first full length story so it was the longest story I wrote at the time. Now it's not even close to my longest story lol. :)
