I thought she behaved rather silly and childish in trying to assert her independence.  Is she that big of an idiot to not realize what her new position means?  She's going to be a public figure now, open to reporters trying to interview her or take pictures.  There will be those jealous of her, hate her because she's human, and will either try to hurt her in some way or kill her or kidnap her.  She's not trained to completely defend herself and a barrier is not going to be enough, just as he proved.  She'd better wake up, grow up, and stop seeing things through rose colored glasses.
