He always compared

Tears hidden from view
Never good enough
It was like a gauntlet run
The words far more worse
Her love infallible

She watched them embrace

She watched them always

She became numb to the scenes
And numb to herself
The other was dead
Just a pile of hardened clay
But he still loved her
