but she still smiled all the time
through the beatings from the villagers
and the deaths of her family members
she never said a thing
she never asked for anything
she foraged and stole for survival
and then one day she met a man
no, a demon of great beauty
hair spun of moonlight
and eyes that of the very sun
she had taken an immediate liking
and sought to befriend him
though he was stubborn
eventually she found a place
he took her from the strife
he her away her muteness
he gave her happiness
and she followed loyally
for however long it would be
she was uncertain
but she always sang for him
and always waited for him to return
and always hoped to stay by his side forever
but for now she was content
to be his little girl
