What a meeting! Everything went downhill between the two. I guess Kagome threw Sesshoumaru off big time.
Amnesia would probably be a better excuse. There are long and short term memories. Alzheimer's is mostly found in the elderly and most prevalent in some races versus others.

I knew this question would come up sooner or later ^_^
It's planned in the later chapters that Kagome found out her father died because he found out he had alz's disease (that cause him to loan money from loan sharks due to poor judgment, and accidentally hired a con artist as his finance manager... and he ran off a cliff with his car).
Also since it's work of fiction, I added that the accident damaged some parts of her brain (i didn't research much on it yet) and unable to produce the protein for the memory "organ". The hippocampus, which is part of the cortex is not retaining the information that it should... etc etc. Protein is called: apolipoprotein. I think i read that there are 3 types of that protein, and that the one labeld "4" was the one that increases the liklihood in getting alz's.
You're on the right track, i was debating whether to use Alz or amnesia. I figured Alz's disease would be more of a blow to the couple =D

I've experienced this in a secondary (don't know which word to use) way. My friend's grandmother had alz's and it was so hard for her and her family. Which really inspired me into making this. I know the emotions behind it, i just need to put it nicely in words =D
I've done a lot of research on Alz's before i started to write the first chapter. I'm not really writing it for the heck of it, more like... Showing what my friend felt when her family was going through the same problem.
