This would be our 7th year open. We actually need some moderators... from people who are active that are active. We'e had some kerfuffles in the past with some mods that thought they were more important than other members of the community, and some that just wanted the status.
SO, we need 2 mods that can help moderate the site here at IYFF and a 3rd mod that would be interested in helping to handle the social media aspects of the club.
Although InuYasha, the manga and anime are over, there are tons of new fanfics each day... and it would be cool to get the word out that we are solely dedicated to InuYasha and as spam free as possible.
Outside of the moderator issue... I need help on changing up our recommended fanfics that are showcased on the site. Got any good ones to suggest? Let me know.

Just wanted to take the time to welcome the newest members, and to say how great it is to see everyone writing and reading! I know school starts for many of you, so this will damper our activity, but keep on truckin'!
Read a little at a time (I know how hard that is, but it's better than not doing your homework!), or write when you're most comfortable (I, for one, can't write under pressure).
Soon, we should be having our 2nd Haiku contest. All of the mods have been very, very busy since we're all involved in multiple sites/groups on top of our personal lives, so we haven't done much besides our basic duties - I apoligize on our behalf. We'll be better behaved from now on.
And most of all, keep spreading the word - Inuyashafanfiction.com is the best place to read or submit Inuyasha fandom writing!

To report plagiarism, please do not just say someone stole someone's work. You must include links, quotes to places and certain scenarios. Remember, the IY fandom has been around for awhile and for those who have only been writing and reading in this fandom the last 5 years, there are so many stories that the plots are so similar, and yet none of the authors ever read each other fanfics.
We need proof that the author deliberately took exact plots and even word-for-word proof. Yeah...sounds like an essay, but plagiarism is a serious thing and needs to have serious proof. IYFF will have a specific email address - reportplagiarism@inuyasha-fanfiction.com

I often check the site's action logs to see what is going on and rather than point individuals out, this is like a general news. Doing this runs up the bandwidth.... on ANY website including this one, and others out there. Please be conscientious about this as a lot of these fan fiction sites are free to use.

It may be one big contest, but, IF WE GET ENOUGH ENTRIES, I will put them up by category. If you're interested, the probable categories will be:

DON'T FORGET!!! Since Haiku are so tiny, you'll have to let me know what category the poem is! The contest will be month-long, and each person can only enter 2 for each category. There will be award banners for all who participate, and separate ones for winners! There is a new category for them-you can find it under "Poetry>Haiku" Good luck! <3
TO ENTER: Simply write a Haiku, put it in the haiku category (under Poetry>Haiku) and make sure that in your story or chapter notes or somewhere, it says it's for the contest. And make sure you put in what category it's for.
P.s. (er, for those that need a refresher course...) Haiku have 3 stanza (lines), in which the first has five syllables, the second has seven syllables, and the last has five again. For instance:
Haiku are great fun, (5)
but they often don't make sense. (7)
Refrigerator. (5)

Hey, everyone! Just in case you hadn't heard, we have two sister sites!
The first is anime-fanfiction.com . It's for all other anime except Inuyasha, since we've pretty much got that covered here. ;] Nile, of course, created it, and she and Keva are modding it.
The second is for Avatar: The Last Airbender only. You can find it at www.avatar-fanfiction.com . We are desperate for more stories!!! Nile and I are the mods there, and we could use more writers, so if you like Avatar but haven't tried writing for it yet, give it a shot and submit to A-FF!

We are going to be getting some changes to the website's layout soon. Same color scheme. It is about time for that to start. With the layout changes, we will be taking away the top banner and putting 6 - 125x125 ads in the sidebar for people to eventually purchase. These will help keep the site going. As for the text ads, I will be reducing them to 3 at the bottom of stories in the content area and pulling them from the footer. The sidebar will be available throughout the entire site.
I will be sending out the awards for our 2008 IYFF Award overall winner shortly. It has been hectic as I have been scraping to get funds going.
We will be putting a DeviantArt fanart group together. We might seek a mod specifically for that group to help out.

In May the InuyashaQuotes community at LJ IYQ had their Grand Reopening. They offer prompts in quotes rather than using one word. Best of all there are no time limits to submitting your stories or word limits! You can do previous prompts whenever you want, even months later! Here is a look at the prompts they have for this month.
Monthly Theme: Grief

Most wank is false anyway and based on petty stuff. Most revolving around any members of this site have been nipped and those who try to start it over and over are proven wrong again and again...hence... this is a No Wank Zone.

As little as $5 does make a difference. I will be putting badges on member's accounts who donate and have donated in the past, as well as the month they donated. It will say "I proudly Support My fandom".
I will be updating the finances received page. There is some controversy on why there should be such a page, but as mentioned months ago. Also, I would like to point out that we are approaching 1000 fanfics, and the site has been upgraded, the community has been expanded to several sections to include fun activities.
So, your support has been encouraging. The other mods and myself hope that you all continue to support our site.
